Service Engineering Manager (Heavy-Duty Electric Trucks)

We are in search of an experienced Service Engineering Manager to oversee a team of service engineers. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in ensuring reliability and performance of our products, as well as taking care of overall customer satisfaction. As the Service Engineering Manager, you will guide your team in developing technical publications, conducting field investigations, creating technician training materials, and fostering effective collaboration with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 10 service engineers, providing direction and support to ensure their professional growth and exceptional performance.

Technical Publications: Guide your team in creating comprehensive technical publications, including service manuals, maintenance guides, and troubleshooting procedures. These resources will aid service technicians in the repair process.

Field Investigations: Direct and coordinate field investigations to pinpoint the root causes of technical issues reported by customers or field technicians. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions and preventive measures.

Technician Training: Oversee the design and development of training materials for service technicians, both in-house and at dealer locations. Ensure that training content remains aligned with the latest technological advancements and service protocols.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration between your team and various departments, such as R&D, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support. Act as a conduit for relaying field insights, driving continuous improvement, and promoting knowledge sharing across teams.

Issue Resolution: Lead your team in tackling complex technical challenges, utilizing their collective expertise and external resources as required. Provide guidance on effective problem-solving strategies and customer communication.

Project Management: Establish project goals, timelines, and milestones. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Performance Metrics: Establish performance indicators relevant to service efficiency, issue resolution timeframes, customer satisfaction, and the effectiveness of training programs. Monitor these metrics to drive improvements.

Process Enhancement: Encourage your team to identify opportunities for process optimization, serviceability improvements, and reduced customer downtime. Implement best practices to elevate the overall service experience.

Continuous Learning: Foster a culture of continuous learning within your team, keeping them updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging practices in electric vehicle technology and heavy-duty truck service.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in service engineering or a technical leadership role within the automotive or heavy-duty equipment sector.

· Profound understanding of electric vehicle systems, components, and diagnostic methods.

· Proven track record of managing and nurturing teams of technical professionals.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and succinctly.

· Proficiency in utilizing technical tools and software for documentation, data analysis, and project management.

· Ability to foster effective collaboration across departments, driving cross-functional synergy to achieve shared objectives.

· Strong aptitude for problem-solving, coupled with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.

· Willingness to travel for field investigations and to participate in industry events as necessary.

· Enthusiasm for sustainable transportation and contributing to the advancement of electric vehicle technology.
