Hexagon Purus Systems Canada Ltd., a new division of the Hexagon Composites company, is focused on designing and manufacturing systems and software to support zero emission e-Mobility offerings including commercial Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV). Hexagon Composites is a global company operating in 40 countries with over 60,000 commercial vehicles in operation.

Hexagon Purus Systems Canada Ltd. is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op Student to work out of our Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada office. The co-op position we are looking for is able to work for an 8- or 12-month co-op term.

Responsibilities

· Assist manufacturing engineering team and engineering technicians with the manufacturing process design of battery modules, battery packs, and other EV powertrain subassemblies.

· Design and build jigs, fixtures, material kit carts to support the manufacturing process.

· Assist with the development of robotic adhesive dispensing paths and other automated systems using PLC’s, G-code, and/or Matlab.

· Participate in process validation testing and prototype production builds, document issues/lessons learned.

Requirements

· Currently enrolled in an Engineering program at an accredited college, or a recent graduate of an engineering discipline.

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Actively enrolled in a technical field of study such as manufacturing, mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science, math, or physics

· Familiarity with basic design engineering software

· Familiarity with the safe operation of basic power tools and lab equipment

· Proficiency in modern desktop office software applications
